The present invention is directed to a method of administering a meloxicam formulation to a mammalian subject in need thereof including: orally administering to the subject an oral solid dosage form including an amorphous meloxicam-cyclodextrin inclusion complex, where administering the amorphous meloxicam-cyclodextrin inclusion complex results in the subject achieving a T_max not greater than about 3.0 hours.
