An aspect of embodiments according to the present invention provides a portable terminal carried by a user, comprising: a battery for supplying power required for an operation of the portable terminal; a wireless communication unit capable of wireless communication with an external multimedia terminal; a charging unit for receiving power from the multimedia terminal so as to charge the battery; a display unit for displaying a control screen for controlling the external multimedia terminal; and a control unit for transmitting a charging start request to the multimedia terminal through the wireless communication unit on the basis of the user's input through the control screen. Accordingly, it is possible to increase, through the multimedia terminal, the effectiveness of advertisement provided to the user.
