The invention relates to a method for extracting and refining alkaloid from ipecac. The method comprises the following steps: (1) extraction and concentration: grinding an ipecac medicinal material, adding an acidic methanol solution or an acidic ethanol solution, extracting to obtain an extract A, and conducting vacuum concentration to obtain a concentrated solution B; (2) separation and enrichment: conducting absorption with a reversed-phase polymer filler J, and conducting desorption thereafter, i.e., rinsing and collecting a rinsing solution C, and eluting with an alcoholic solution E and collecting a desorption solution D; (3) purification: injecting the rinsing solution C into a preparative high-performance liquid phase for separation and purification, and collecting a solution G; injecting the desorption solution D into the high-performance liquid phase for separation and purification, and respectively collecting a solution H and a solution I; and (4) enrichment and drying: concentrating the solution G, the solution H and the solution I, absorbing each concentrated solution with a reversed-phase polymer filler K, and after the absorption, eluting with an alcoholic solution F, conducting vacuum concentration on the obtained eluent to dryness, and conducting vacuum drying, thereby obtaining the product. The product has high purity and high yield.
