A synthesis circuit and method for testing a direct current (DC) circuit breaker by means of composite injection of high voltage and large current, the DC circuit breaker being a hybrid high voltage DC (HVDC) circuit breaker (1). Said circuit comprises a large current test loop, a hybrid HVDC circuit breaker (1) and a high voltage test loop; the large current test loop and the high voltage test loop both being connected in parallel to the hybrid HVDC circuit breaker (1).
