RNASE7 FOR TREATMENT OF BACTERIAL INFECTION

A method of treating or preventing bacterial infection in a subject having metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, or diabetes mellitus is described. The method includes administering a therapeutically effective amount of RNAse 7 and/or a PI3K/AKT agonist to the subject. Also described is a method of treating or preventing bacterial infection in a subject having metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, or diabetes mellitus and receiving non-insulin anti-diabetic therapy by administering a therapeutically effective amount of insulin to the subject.
