Provided in the embodiments of the present invention are a method and a device for screening valid entries of a pronunciation dictionary. The method comprising: going through each entry of a pronunciation dictionary, calling a pre-trained statistical model, and scoring the entry according to a preset scoring policy, a contrasting relationship between the entry and corresponding pronunciation distribution being stored in the statistical model; and screening, according to a preset screening policy, the scored pronunciation dictionary, so as to obtain an optimized pronunciation dictionary. The embodiments of the present invention optimize the pronunciation dictionary at low cost and high efficiency while improving the recognition rate of the pronunciation dictionary.
