The invention relates to an aircraft propulsion assembly (6) having a thrust reverser with moving guards (12), including: an engine (9) covered by a front cover (7) and a rear cover (8) that are both mobile; moving guards (12) supported by the rear cover (8), said guards being covered by the front cover (7) in normal operation, and extending into a space (E) separating the front cover (7) from the rear cover (8) when the rear cover is moved to the rear; two arcuate frames (13, 14), which are spaced apart and surround the engine (9) in order to support actuators for moving the rear cover (8); the space (E) located between the two arcuate frames (13, 14) being uncovered when the front (7) and rear (8) covers are moved to the front and rear; and in which the two arcuate frames (13, 14) jointly support a series of elements forming steps (16) which constitute a ladder for quick access to the top of the propulsion assembly.
