The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a method for producing a bandsaw blade that lengthens the service life of a barrel member; and a bandsaw blade. Provided is a method for producing a bandsaw blade, the method comprising: a step (a) in which a plurality of sawtooth mounts 5A, 5B each provided with a cutting blade section 9 at a distal end section are formed at appropriate intervals on a belt-shaped member 3; and a step (b) in which chamfering 15A, 15B is applied according to a material removal process method on two side edges of a tooth bottom surface 13 in a gullet section 11 formed between the sawtooth mounts 5A, 5B. Due to this configuration, provided is a bandsaw blade with which a plurality of sawtooth mounts each provided with a cutting blade section at a distal end section are provided at appropriate intervals on a belt-shaped member, wherein two side edges of a tooth bottom surface in a gullet section formed between the sawtooth mounts are chamfered according to a material removal process method.
