A split structure portable projector comprises a host (1) and a ray machine (2); the host (1) is detachably connected to the ray machine (2); the host (1) is internally provided with a circuit board region (11), an electrical module (12), an original laser module (13) and a lens module (14); the ray machine (2) has a light source (21) arranged at the front end, and a projective module (22) arranged inside. Since the ray machine (2) is arranged externally, both the ray machine (2) and the host (1) can be made ultrathin to be portable. The ray machine (2) can be clipped to a shirt pocket; and the host (1) can be put in a trousers pocket. If the ray machine (2) is made to have a large size, then the battery can be independent, thereby greatly increasing the battery endurance time. Compared with a projector having an embedded ray machine (2), the invention has enhanced portability and recreational effect.
