VIDEO PROTECTION METHOD AND APPARATUS USING DIGITAL FINGERPRINTING TECHNOLOGY

Provided is a video protection method using digital fingerprinting technology. The method comprises: a user equipment sending a video request to a network side device, and then receiving a video stream issued by the network side device based on the video request, wherein the video stream comprises a digital fingerprint protection strategy; and the user equipment acquiring a digital fingerprint based on hardware information about the user equipment according to the digital fingerprint protection strategy, and then displaying the digital fingerprint according to the digital fingerprint protection strategy. According to the method, a flexible digital fingerprint protection strategy can be configured with regard to a specific channel, a specific user group and a designated user equipment, thereby preventing video contents from being pirated.
