A light gauge steel joist basic structure system of a light partition wall, comprising: top and ground joists and vertical joists (3, 4, 5). The top and ground joists comprise a ground joist (1) and a top joist (2). The vertical joist (3) is provided between the top and ground joists by means of a first connection member (10). The vertical joist (4) and the vertical joist (5) are fixedly connected to each other by means of the first connection member (10) and/or a second connection member (12). V-shaped slots (7) are symmetrically provided on two side walls of the top and ground joists. The V-shaped slots (7) are provided on the side walls and the bottoms of the vertical joists (3, 4, 5). A construction method for a light gauge steel joist basic structure of a light partition wall, comprising: installation and fixation of joists and connection members. The light gauge steel joist basic structure system is simple and fast to be constructed and has desirable flatness.
