Disclosed are a low-temperature inorganic-molten-salt aluminum-ion supercapacitor cell, and a method for preparing the same. The aluminum-ion supercapacitor cell comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte. An active material of the positive electrode is a composite of a carbon material and a transition metal sulfide. The negative electrode is metal aluminum or an alloy thereof. The electrolyte is a mixed molten salt system of aluminum chloride with an alkali metal chloride or an alkaline earth metal chloride. The electrolyte may further contain a bromoaluminate and a chloroaluminate as additives. The aluminum-ion supercapacitor cell can be rapidly charged and discharged, and has high capacity, high efficiency, good cycling stability, and excellent charge and discharge characteristics. In addition, the electrode materials are abundant, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly.
