The invention relates to a probiotic composition, which includes at least one lactic acid bacteria strain, preferably Lactobacillus with intestinal tropism, for use intended to promote juvenile livestock growth with stimulation of linear growth and/or IGF-1 levels. Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus paracasei, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus can be cited as lactic acid bacteria. The strains can be selected in a mouse model. The invention also relates to a probiotic treatment method using said composition.
