The invention relates to a connected object which consists of a shin pad equipped with an electronic chip making it possible to gather various data used in the fields of sport and of health. It in particular lets a sportsperson know the distance they have covered, their average speed, their power and strike, and many other things besides. As regards the field of health, it constitutes, among other things, a device that assists individuals with poor eyesight by letting them know their position, and by alerting them to obstacles in their path. This shin pad can be customized. The customization will be performed using methods such as gold-plating, the affixing of coloured LEDs, and the addition of an interactive mini-screen. Finally, the shin pad as indicated hereinabove may be made to measure to suit the desires of future users thereof. This invention will be usable in the fields of sport and of health.
