The invention relates to a method (11) for the detection of one or more fold-overs in an electrode carrier. The method is characterised in that it comprises: a step (12) of acquiring the potentials generated by one or more electrodes (2) of the electrode carrier; a step (13) configured to cancel measurement errors and to process the measurements; a step (14) of detecting faulty electrodes unrelated to fold-over; a step (15) of detecting the second diagonal demonstrating the presence of a fold-over; and a step (18) of detecting the electrode on which fold-over is present.
