A video monitoring method comprises: a camera 100 recording a captured moving image; the camera 100 transmitting, to a server 200, still images extracted at first time intervals from the moving image; the server 200 transmitting the still images to an administrator terminal 300; the administrator terminal 300 accepting an input for designating a still image; the server 200 transmitting, to the camera 100, information for identifying the designated still image; the camera 100 transmitting, to the server 200, a moving image preceding the designated still image by a predetermined time, or a plurality of still images extracted at second time intervals shorter than the predetermined time from the moving image preceding the designated still image by the predetermined time; and the server 200 transmitting, to the administrator terminal 300, the moving image preceding the designated still image by the predetermined time or the plurality of still images extracted at the second time intervals.
