The present invention relates to the technical field of video monitoring and especially relates to a video monitoring method and apparatus, a monitoring server and a video monitoring system. The method comprises: when an abnormal picture image is detected by means of video data photographed by a target camera, predicting a future movement trajectory of a target object in the abnormal picture image; determining whether the future movement trajectory of the target object is separated from monitored area coverage of a monitoring server; and according to the determination result, monitoring the target object. The method can both automatically detect whether an abnormal picture image exists in a video to implement video monitoring so that comprehensive and effective monitoring can be performed in advance on a target object in the abnormal picture image; and further implement monitoring by predicting a future movement trajectory of the target object so that comprehensive and effective monitoring can be further guaranteed.
