Disclosed are an extended-range electric vehicle and an electricity generation control method therefor. The method comprises: S1, receiving a target electricity generation power request, obtaining a current power change step length according to a current electricity generation power and a target electricity generation power, and imposing a gradient restriction on the target electricity generation power according to the current power change step length; S2, obtaining a target rotational speed of an engine and a target torque of an electric generator according to the target electricity generation power obtained after the gradient restriction; and S3, controlling the rotational speed of the engine according to the obtained target rotational speed of the engine, controlling the torque of the electric generator according to the obtained target torque of the electric generator, such that a range extender reaches the target electricity generation power obtained after the gradient restriction, and when the target electricity generation power obtained after the gradient restriction is achieved, returning to S1 until the electricity generation power reaches the target electricity generation power corresponding to the target electricity generation power request. By means of the electricity generation control method, the electricity generation power is gradually changed to the target electricity generation power, thus preventing the electricity generation power from increasing or decreasing suddenly, and improving the control stability of the range extender.
