The present invention relates to a battery cell comprising an electrode assembly inside a battery case, wherein the electrode assembly includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separation membrane. The separation membrane of the electrode assembly includes a separation membrane surplus part which outwardly protrudes from an outer peripheral end of an electrode. Among outer peripheral surfaces of the electrode assembly, the separation surplus part is attached to an outer peripheral end of an electrode by thermal contraction on at least one outer peripheral surface among the remaining outer peripheral surfaces excluding the outer peripheral surface to which electrode terminals are located.
