The present invention relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as LTE. The present invention performs beamforming in a wireless communication system. The device includes: a control unit configured to determine the number of beams; a communication unit configured to set a path associated with an antenna array in order to configure as many antenna subsets as the number of the beams; and antenna arrays configured to form at least one beam through at least one antenna subset.
