Provided are an external power supply type system and a method thereof to monitor the corrosion of a pipe line in an extremely cold place in real time. The present invention is capable of reducing power consumption and costs for maintenance by changeably applying an optimized protection current by using an external power supply method (ICCP) while monitoring the corrosion of a pipe line in an extremely cold area. Moreover, the present invention is capable of improving the stability of the pipe line through an external power supply cathodic protection method for easy maintenance and continuous real time corrosion, and improving energy efficiency, as compared to an existing external power supply protection method.
