The present invention relates to a method for searching for data, which is performed by a system configured to search for data based on recognition of a search target and to include a user terminal and a data search server. The method for searching for data comprises the steps of: (a) recognizing, by a user terminal, a search instruction gesture; (b) acquiring, by the user terminal, information about a state of the user terminal when the search instruction gesture is recognized, and setting, by the user terminal, a search target based on the information about the state; (c) receiving, by a data search server, the information about the state and the search target from the user terminal, determining, by the data search server, a search category for the search target based on the information about the state, and extracting, by the data search server, content corresponding to the search target from the information about the state or the search target; and (d) extracting, by the data search server, data matched to the content corresponding to the search target from a database based on the search category, and generating, by the data search server, a search result.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
