The present invention relates to an Internet of things (IoT) based data aggregation system and a data aggregation method using the same. According to the present invention, in a data aggregation method using a data aggregation system comprising a wireless terminal, a radio frequency (RF) smart sensor, and a data aggregation device, the data aggregation method comprises the following steps of: receiving data from the wireless terminal in response to a request by the data aggregation device when the data request aggregation device requests transmission of the data to the wireless terminal having a first data transfer rate; and transmitting a response signal for reception of a sensing information to the RF smart sensor when the sensing information is wirelessly received from the RF smart sensor having a second data transfer rate, wherein the wireless terminal and the RF smart sensor use an identical frequency band, and the second data transfer rate is less than the first data transfer rate. According to the IoT based data aggregation system and the data aggregation method using the same, various rates in a single frequency band can be supported and IoT based intelligent data aggregation infrastructure can be constructed, so the present invention can be effectively utilized for a smart city.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
