The present invention provides a method to activate a porous metal-organic framework which comprises a step to manufacture the porous metal-organic framework, wherein the porous metal-organic framework is treated with dichloromethane (CH_2Cl_2) or trichloromethane (CHCl_3), thereby removing a solvent. Also, the present invention provides the porous metal-organic framework activated by the same. According to the present invention, the method of activation is simple compared to existing methods, and the method of activation removes molecules of the solvent in the metal-organic framework cost-efficiently, and maintains structural integrity of the metal-organic framework at the same time.
