The present invention relates to a method for improving the drought resistance of roses. Specifically, the present invention relates to a method for improving the drought resistance of roses by introducing a superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) gene derived from colon bacillus to the roses and expressing the same. According to the present invention, the drought resistance of the roses can be improved effectively. The roses with improved drought resistance according to the present invention can survive longer when the roses do not receive enough water supply, thereby contributing significantly to decrease the damage of farming families due to continuous droughts or malfunction of irrigation equipment.
