The present invention relates to a method for providing a smart lighting service, an apparatus and a system thereof. The method for providing a smart lighting service in a smart lighting apparatus which interworks with a user terminal and a server through a communication network includes the steps of: detecting presence and motion of a user through a sensor provided to identify a face recognition object; photographing the identified face recognition object by driving a camera provided therein; analyzing an image generated through the photographing to recognize a facial expression; determining an illumination pattern using the facial expression recognition resu and controlling a lighting unit provided in the smart lighting device based on the determined illumination pattern. Therefore, the present invention can provide a smart lighting service capable of adaptively controlling an illumination pattern and outputted contents according to the result of face recognition.
