The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for treating diseases associated with the expression of CD33. The disclosure also relates to recombinant T cells comprising a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for CD33, a vector encoding the same, and CD33 CAR. The present disclosure also encompasses methods of administering genetically modified T cells expressing CAR comprising the CD33 binding domain.
