The present invention relates to a Spathiphyllum cannifolium extract, and to a cosmetic composition including the same and having effects in blocking UV rays and whitening skin. More specifically, the present invention relates to a UV blocking and skin whitening Spathiphyllum cannifolium extract, and to a cosmetic composition including a Spathiphyllum cannifolium extract as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, natural extracts extracted from a plant are used as active ingredients for blocking UV rays, so a cosmetic composition which is naturally-friendly and has excellent functions in removing DPPF and inhibiting tyrosinase can be provided. In addition, a UV ray blocking composition of the present invention can show an excellent antioxidant function and a whitening function.
