The present invention relates to a Banksia extract, and to a cosmetic composition including the same and having UV-blocking and whitening effects. More specifically, the present invention relates to a Banksia (Banksia burdettii. Baker f.) extract for blocking UV rays or whitening skin, and to a cosmetic composition including the same. The present invention provides an environmentally-friendly and excellent cosmetic composition having functions in removing DPPF and inhibiting tyrosinase by using a natural extract extracted from plants as an active ingredient for blocking UV rays. In addition, the cosmetic composition of the present invention can show excellent antioxidant and whitening functions, and can express effects in whitening skin and preventing and alleviating skin damage such as erythema, pigmentation, and aging caused by UV exposure.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
