The present invention relates to a device for detecting materials for a 3-dimensional printer, which detects whether the materials for a 3-dimensional printer is supplied or not and determines whether materials are supplied during output with ease, and a 3-dimensional printer using the same. The device according to the present invention comprises: a nozzle for melting and extruding materials; a material supply unit for supplying the materials to the nozzle according to supply control signals and interrupting the supply of materials to the nozzle according to interruption control signals; a detecting unit for producing a current value depending on the flow of materials supplied from the material supply unit; and a control unit for receiving the current value generated at the detecting unit, producing the supply control signals for controlling the supply of materials from the material supply unit and the interruption control signals according to the current value, and outputting the supply control signals and interruption control signals to the material supply unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
