The present invention relates to a method for degrading low-grade coal by using Pseudomonas putida, and a method for producing an energy source by using the same. The method for producing an energy source by using the method comprises the steps of: growing Pseudomonas putida in a culture medium including coal and thus converting the coal into a dissolved and degraded product; and acquiring the dissolved and degraded product as an energy source.
