A social network service method using a growth image for free sympathy expression, a user terminal for the same and a server are disclosed. The social network service method includes a step of outputting a post made by a publisher, a step of displaying a first growth image corresponding to the emotion of the publisher, a step of receiving an empathy signal for the post and a step of generating and displaying a second growth image formed by growing the first growth image according to the input of a sympathy signal.
