Disclosed are a navigation method and a navigation control apparatus for a mobile robot which is driven in a predetermined driving area with a virtual fence. The disclosed navigation method for the mobile robot comprises: a step of storing a plurality of reference images photographed by moving in a predetermined driving area as fence image information with respect to a virtual fence expressing the driving area; a step of determining a moving direction of the mobile robot with similarity between the fence image information, and photographing image information of the mobile robot; and a step of driving along the moving direction.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
