The present invention relates to NtROS2a gene related to demethylation from Nicotiana tabacum, and to use thereof. According to the present invention, transgenic plants overexpressing the NtROS2a gene related to demethylation from the Nicotiana tabacum show a remarkable increase in a germination rate of seed, or the length of root and Zanthoxylum piperitum, compared to wild type (WT) and RNAi plants, under high salt, dry, oxidative and aluminum stress conditions. Therefore, the NtROS2a gene can be usefully used for developing genetically modified (GM) crops, such as transgenic plants, biofuel crops, and others, which are resistant to environmental stress suitable for areas with disadvantageous conditions.
