The present invention relates to a system and a method for detecting train movement of a train control system based on wireless communications. The system for detecting train movement of a train control system based on wireless communications comprises: a wireless communications unit which transmits and receives train information to and from a control ATS and a ground ATP which are facilities on the ground; an on-vehicle ATP which controls acceleration and deceleration of a train by providing train information of the control AST and the ground ATP through the wireless communications unit to a train ATO; a reader which is installed on the train and measures a moving distance of the train; and a detector which transmits an ACK message to the on-vehicle ATP when receiving a heart beat for notifying a normal condition from the on-vehicle ATP, determines an abnormal condition when the heart beat for notifying a normal condition is not received from the on-vehicle ATP, and determines whether movement of the train occurs based on the moving distance of the train measured by the reader. According to the present invention, the system for detecting train movement of a train control system based on wireless communications detects whether movement of the train has occurred in an abnormal condition such as termination, failure, rebooting and so on of the train control system based on wireless communications and provides the same to the on-vehicle ATP to enable the same to be used as useful information to determine whether the train control system based on wireless communications normally operates in the future.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
