It is an object of the present invention to provide a ferrite particle used as a raw material for a magnetic filler or a molded body having excellent powder dispersibility, excellent uniformity, and small unevenness after molding, and a method for producing the ferrite particle. In order to achieve this object, Mn-Mg ferrite particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 2,000 nm and a sphericity phase are employed. It is preferable that the ferrite particles are produced by a method characterized in that the ferrite raw material obtained by preparing a ferrite composition is sprayed in air to ferrite and then rapidly quenched and solidified.
