ICN IP ANCHORING IP DEVICES IN ICN NETWORKS

A procedure, method and structure for anchoring communication between an IP-based network or an IP-based device in an ICN network are disclosed. Embodiments may enable communication between one IP-based device connected to the ICN network or two IP-based devices connected to the ICN while another IP-based device is connected to either the ICN network or the IP network. In one embodiment, an IP packet originating from an IP-based device may be encapsulated as an ICN packet and may be delivered over an ICN network. In one embodiment, the IP packets received over the ICN network may be encapsulated in an ICN packet, or may be delivered to an IP based device. In one embodiment, an IP packet originating from an IP-based device may be communicated and received via an ICN network towards another IP network. In one embodiment, the IP packets received by the ICN network may be communicated to the IP based device over the ICN network.
