Provided are a cavity detection system for detecting a cavity occurring in a lower part of a concrete track for a railway and a method thereof, wherein the system can accurately detect a position and a size of a small cavity and a large cavity occurring in the lower ground of a concrete track for a railway such as a concrete slab track or a sleeper direct connection track, and further, economically detect a position and a size of a small cavity and a large cavity occurring in the lower ground of the concrete track compared to conventional ground penetrating radar (GPR).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
