Provided are a method and system for optimizing a correction area and correcting the distortion of a projector. The method for correcting the distortion of a projector according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: calculating a homography representing a geometrical relationship between the projector and a screen; and correcting an image to be projected on the projector by using a conversion matrix including a parameter for movement conversion and scale conversion of an image and the calculated homography matrix. Accordingly, the distortion of the projector can be automatically corrected and all parts of an original image can be included with the largest size.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
