LIGNAN DERIVATIVES FROM SCHISANDRA CHINENSIS EXTRACT AND USE THEREOF

The present invention relates to a novel lignan compound isolated from a Schisandra chinensis extract, and to a composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating familial hypercholesterolemia comprising lignan derivatives as active ingredients. The lignan derivatives comprising the novel compound of the present invention have the activity of significantly inhibiting the expression of the PCSK9 gene, and since the compound is isolated from the Schisandra chinensis extract, there is an advantage of having less human toxicity and being safe. Therefore, the composition according to the present invention introduces LDL-cholesterol in the blood into cells, and as a result, by reducing the LDL-cholesterol level, can be usefully used for the development of medicines or health functional food for prevention or treatment of the familial hypercholesterolemia.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
