The present invention relates to a hoist safety device having a fall prevention safety function and a method for preventing a fall accident. The hoist safety device comprises a human body sensor, a multi-siren, and a safety rack. More specifically, when a product is lowered from an upper floor to a lower floor or raised from a lower floor to an upper floor by using an industrial hoist in a high-rise workplace while a safety handrail is open, a fall accident can be caused due to carelessness if a worker works without hanging a safety hook of a safety belt on a safety rack. Therefore, the hoist safety device of the present invention is configured to prevent a fall accident and ensure work safety by supplying the power to the hoist only when a safety hook of a safety belt that the worker wears is attached to a safety rack installed in a steel structure in a workplace in order to prevent a fall in operation.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
