The techniques disclosed herein are directed to plastic compounds suitable for articles such as pipes having excellent physical properties such as impact strength and resistance to environmental stress cracking (ESC). In particular, the present technology relates to a vinyl chloride resin comprising a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride ("CPVC") homopolymer. The present invention also relates to vinyl chloride homopolymer compounds containing vinyl chloride homopolymer resins, and articles made from such compounds, which meet the 23447 cell classification under ASTM D1784.
