The present invention relates to a method for reproducing a digital image file, and a recording medium for storing a program implementing the same, and more particularly, to a method for reproducing a digital image file which transfers more intuitive and detailed description on a photograph to a user while avoiding direct damage to the photograph and not degrading readability of the photograph. To this end, in a process of inputting a description to an image file, and a process of reproducing an image file, the method for reproducing a digital image file of the present invention comprises the steps of: storing, by a user, information on a corresponding text item (a brief description of a specific region of a photograph) and a text item tool tip (more detailed description) in an image file in a recording medium; reading the stored information on the text item and the text item tool tip when the image file is reproduced to generate the text item, and adding the text item tool tip thereto to be arranged on a corresponding position on a photograph; and presenting a more detailed description of the text item to the user in the text item tool tip form when a mouse cursor is placed on the text item.
