The present invention relates to an energy storage system for an elevator including a supercapacitor module for storing regenerative braking energy generated during the driving of an elevator. The present invention provides the energy storage system for an elevator which includes: a DC-DC converter connected in parallel between a converter to which a commercial power source for supplying power to the elevator is connected and an inverter; and the supercapacitor module connected in series to the DC-DC converter and includes a plurality of supercapacitors for supplying the power to the elevator by assisting the commercial power source.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
