The present invention relates to a novel chlorella bulgaris KNUA027 strain (KCTC 12965BP) and a method for producing a fatty acid or a hydrocarbon using the strain. The chlorella bulgaris KNUA027 strain (KCTC 12965BP) of the present invention has an advantage of efficiently producing fatty acids and hydrocarbons in a light-independent and nutrition manner. Therefore, the strain of chlorella bulgaris KNUA027 (KCTC 12965BP) has high value as a raw material biomass for production of biofuels, so that it can be used in related businesses in the future, and the protein content is also high. In addition, omega-3 and omega-6 produced by the chlorella bulgaris KNUA027 (KCTC 12965BP) strain of the present invention are expected to be applicable to various industrial fields as raw materials for medicines, foods and cosmetics.
