The present invention relates to a photocatalyst having excellent visible light activity and a method for producing the same. The photocatalyst according to the present invention includes a polymer matrix on which silver (Ag) and titanium dioxide (TiO ₂ ) Since it has a band gap and a high specific surface area, it can exhibit excellent photocatalytic activity in a visible light region as well as adsorb and remove an organic compound under a condition where light irradiation is not performed. In addition, the titanium dioxide has a structure chemically bonded to the polymer matrix, which facilitates reuse of the photocatalyst.
