The present invention relates to a system and method for controlling a failure in displaying of images for monitoring of a situation of riding on and alighting from a subway train. The system for controlling a failure in displaying of images for monitoring of a situation of riding on and alighting from a subway train comprises: a plurality of monitoring cameras which are distributed and installed across a subway platform, and acquire and provide a plurality of camera images photographed for a situation of the subway platform; a platform display device which is installed in the subway platform, and provides a platform image to a subway train driver; a platform image generation device which generates and provides a first platform image adapted to simultaneously display the camera images via a plurality of split screens; a station control device which recognizes situations related to management of a subway station and operation of a subway train, provides guidance on the situations, backs up the camera images transmitted by the monitoring cameras via a back-up device, and additionally generates a second platform image; and a failure processing device which transfers any one of the first and second platform images to the platform display device, and when a failure occurs in one of the devices being currently providing the platform image, substitutes the current platform image with the other platform image generated by the other device and transmits the platform image generated by the device not experiencing the failure. In this case, the failure processing device recognizes a failed state of one of the devices based on a state of transmission of the corresponding platform image, and transmits notification selectively to an administrator managing the device in the failed state.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
