Various embodiments are directed to a method of correcting for phase errors in multidimensional, space-selective radio frequency excitation pulses. The method includes the emission of a multi-dimensional, space-selective radio frequency excitation pulse (1), and acquisition of a plurality of calibration gradient echoes (21). The method further comprises calculating a phase correction of the multidimensional, space-selective radio frequency excitation pulse and calculating a time correction.
