A brain-computer interface apparatus based on motion-related cortical potential (MRCP) measures a MRCP signal generated during the motion imagination of a subject when brain-computer interfacing is processed based MRCP, detects an EEG signal section including predetermined characteristic elements based on a negative maximum value of at least one sound included in the measured MRCP signal, classifies the related operation condition based on at least one of the characteristic elements of the detected EEG signal section, and detects an instruction corresponding to the classified operating condition.
