The present invention relates to a surface treatment method for treating the surface of mechanical parts such as a bearing, gear, shaft, turbine, and the like, or varieties of mold tools such as a press die, roll, and the like in steel production, paper, semiconductor, and display industries. In existing surface treatment methods using an existing thermal spray coating (TSC) technique, there is the possibility that unevenness and/or porosity of the coating may occur and weaken the adhesive force of the coating layer, so post-treatment for recovering an object from fatigue caused by coating work and modifying a surface is not considered. To solve the problems of the existing treatment methods, a surface treatment method using TSC and ultrasonic nanocrystal surface modification (USNM) is provided, which assigns desired mechanical properties to an object by performing TSC on the object, and modifies the surface of a coating layer by performing USNM, thereby giving superior mechanical properties, performance, and longer lifespan through fusion and convergence of the TSC and USNM techniques.
